Need a quick and easy gift for Dad? Buy a foam cup holder at a craft holder and poke some colored office brads into it in a decorative design. You could spell “Dad,” make a stick-figure person or anything else you’d like.
What You Need: Foam cup holder, colored office brads.

How You Make It: Carefully poke brads into foam in any design or shape you’d like. Reach inside the cup to fold the ends of the brads outward. That’s it!

You may have seen these simple-but-cute flower-topped pens in use at offices or retail shops. While this is a project that requires a fair amount of adult help, it’s still fun for the preschooler to pick out pretty flowers and present the gift to Mom for Mother’s Day. You can make several pens and present them in a small terra cotta pot filled with beans, fishtank gravel, etc.
What You Need: ballpoint pen, fabric flowers and leaves, green floral tape, scissors.

How You Make It: select flower and leaves. Cut, with stem, about 2 inches long. Position flower at top of ballpoint pen. Holding securely, adult wraps floral tape (which sticks to itself but not other surfaces) around stem and the top 3 inches of the pen.
